Murray McCandless, CES, BAS and Principal Auctioneer brings to Progressive Auction Group all of his knowledge, passion and experience from a 23 year background of pastoral ministry. He is a licensed auctioneer in numerous states and is available to conduct auctions from coast to coast. Murray is a 1985 graduate of Hanover College in Hanover, IN and earned his Master’s Degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville (1990.) He’s been married to his beautiful wife, Mary Beth, since 1988. Together, they are raising twin children, son Jesse and daughter Hannah. Murray is an accomplished Auctioneer having graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering (2005) and is an Instructor at the Kentucky Auction Academy in Bowling Green, KY since its inception. Murray was named Reserve Champion in the Kentucky State Auctioneering Championships in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He continues to compete successfully at the International Auctioneering Championship level as a member of the National Auctioneers Association.  Murray makes an annual mid-November transformation as a Professional Santa Claus Portrayal Artist and has been seen at numerous private, corporate and community events throughout Kentucky and Indiana.

Murray’s greatest passion is serving as a Fundraising Consultant and Benefit Auctioneer working primarily with nonprofit organizations in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and beyond. Feeling very much at home behind the microphone, Murray’s public speaking, written, communication and people skills make him a perfect addition to the Progressive Auction Group and a revenue enhancing match for nonprofit and charitable organizations throughout the US.
